Gulti joins KAYAC!
Gulti joins KAYAC!
On February 12, 2016, KAYAC acquired shares and performed a third party allocation of new shares in GULTI Co., Ltd. (head officer: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; representative director: Osamu Chadani), a consumer and smartphone game developer, making the company a subsidiary of KAYAC.
Based on its philosophy of “Creating and Connecting,” KAYAC has produced a variety of services and content, but also actively invested in the smartphone game market.
Meanwhile, Gulti has the experience and skill enabling multi-platform game development for consumer devices, PCs, smartphones and VR, and is considering the release of titles on the rapidly growing global PC online platform of Steam as a publisher and developer.
With Gulti becoming a subsidiary of KAYAC, the knowhow and strengths of the two companies will be utilized to (1) further improve profitability in the intensely competitive smartphone game market by increasing creativity, and (2) developing VR games combining KAYAC’s VR development accomplishments with Gulti’s UNITY technology, and offering them on Steam.
As the two companies continue to face new challenges as described above, we will aim to make the entire KAYAC Group more competitive and improve corporate value.
